Description

Axial blower fans are commonly used in older “Heatilator” and “Superior Heatform” Masonry Fireplace Blower Systems.

The first Superior “Heatform” was built in 1932; A “Heatform” is a double walled, heat-circulating fireplace system.

  • Cool Air Inlets are lower on the wall, on the sides or under the fireplace.
  • Warm Air Outlets are higher on the wall, above the fireplace.

(3.3 Motor) Axial Blade Fans are used in Heat-Circulating Masonry Fireplaces where air inlets are formed within brick construction. Typically installed in the lower vents to push the air around the firebox to heat it, and then out through the top vent(s) into the room.

loud noise and bent fan blades

Posted by Dave Kahlig on 1st Dec 2024

The help that I needed to select to correct fan was great, but when I received them the aluminum fan blades were bent. I straightened them as best that I could. After installing them the one fan motor is much louder that the other one, not because of the bent fan blades. The noise is coming from the motor. I'm thinking of removing them and calling this a loss. One good comment is that the fans put out a good amount of air flow. The old fans were much quieter. Motors also run very hot to the touch.
