This Wall Mounted Variable Speed Control easily replaces an Existing Wall Switch and connects to the wiring by interrupting the Black 'Hot' wire.
This 'Existing Wall Switch' would have been already connected to the Junction Box 'Outlet' in the lower vent space of your fireplace.
