GFK-160A Fireplace Blower Fan Kit for Heat & Glo SL-750TRS-IPI-E Fireplace

My fireplace wall was getting extremely hot all of the warmth from the fire place was going up and not out. I installed this with total ease !! Super no brainer install and I could not be more happy!! The hot air now fills the room and the fireplace wall is no longer " on fire" Probably the best purchase I made in 2021 !! THANK YOU

A review was requested and a review shall be delivered. Pretty bold though as I only received the blower mere days ago. To put this in perspective it has been averaging about -20 C up here in the great white north. Cold for many but this is the temperature at which Canadians grudgingly retire their swimsuits for lumberjack shirts and a pair of jeans. Parkas and toques are for below -25 C when you get that fantastic wasabi burn when breathing in quickly through ones' nose. The blower was to be installed at our centrally heated cottage in the unheated three season sun room The good news is that it installs sort of quickly. I did most of the wiring inside and then went to the -20 C no sun room (it was after 4 pm so it was dark up here) and installed the blower. It is a TIGHT fit, but needs NO fasteners and went in quickly. One 120 VAC plug and two spade connectors and turn the fireplace on, and wait. It is -20 C in the room. So I wait, and wait and… you get the picture. The problem is not the blower or anything supplied. It is the location of the magnetic thermodisc UNDER the fireplace. In a room with an ambient temperature of -20 C that puppy is going to take hours and hours to get over 120 F to turn the blower on. The solution took about 10 times longer than the whole standard installation (which took less than 3 minutes) and involved maneuvering the thermodisc up the side of the firebox where gets hot much faster. In seconds the blower is on and works fantastically! This is starting at -20 C with no complaint or bearing noise at all! Low to high adjustment is great and it blows heat out. The fireplace was pretty useless without the blower with most of the heat going out the vent. It makes some noise on high but IT IS A BLOWER! What little noise there is was not annoying to me at least. Turn the fireplace off, everything cools down and the blower automatically shuts off. Very good product. Quiet. Installs easily.
