Good Quality - Not A Good Fit

Posted by Mike Likvan on 28th Oct 2021

This blower is everything it's claimed to be. High quality, easy to install, works flawlessly. The problem I had is with my Heatilator fireplace (Model GNBC30 NAT). The way it's designed, the firebox is isolated/insulated from the top and bottom. So neither area get very hot. Because of this, the temperature sensor won't work in the bottom (it never gets hot-to-the-touch under there), and the fan is blowing air out of the top that's once removed from the firebox so it's not very hot. The blower is great. The fireplace isn't designed to take advantage of it.

    Works great.

Since I was a former gas service man at one time I found it was easier to remove the logs, burner, & housing by raising them up so I could have room to install the blower at the very back. It was not hard just time consuming. The thermal disc would not shut off so I had to place it as far away from the burner as possible so the blower would shut off. Unit works fine. Would recommend it to anyone who needs a blower but just remember, take your time and do it right..
