Our FAB-1600 Fireplace Blower Fan Kit is designed for the Superior DVR5000 SERIES gas fireplace insert to circulate air around the firebox and enhance heat output. This complete fireplace blower kit offers a low cost solution to push heat created by the fireplace into your living space.
Included with the blower kit: Variable Speed Switch, (rheostat control - like a light dimmer) which you can regulate air flow and any air noise from the fireplace fan and Thermo Switch (Thermodisc), a Heat Sensor which automatically turns the Blower ON after the fireplace heats up and automatically turns the Blower OFF after the fireplace cools down.

FAB-1600 Fireplace Blower
This blower installs quickly and easily. Using it makes a huge difference in how much heat gets into the room. The fan is loud at full speed but quiet at intermediate speeds that are quite enough for heating. There are no vibrations because the mounts have isolation pads and are well-designed. The speed control is a chunky rotary knob with wires that's better suited to mounting behind a panel but that's hard to do in an after the fireplace has been installed. The knob has Velcro adhesive for wall mounting but I placed it inside the fireplace behind the lower louvre, out of sight. Once you find a good speed setting the blower operation is automatic because it cycles on and off with the heating of the metal enclosure, no need to fiddle with the knob. So overall this is a great product, well worth the money for how much more heat you get from the fireplace. And if you want an elegant look, go for the remote control so you don't have the klunky knob control exposed on the side.
